A letter to applicants:

Thank you for entering our pageant. The Annual Miss Hebron Music & Arts Festival Royalty will be crowned Saturday, September 24th 2011 during the Festival. The entry fee is $10.00 and must be submitted with your application on or before Wednesday, September 14th; Make your entry fee check payable to "Hebron Music and Arts Festival" cash will not be accepted. All contestants ride the royalty float with the reigning Queens in the parade. The parade will line up and depart from Evans Filed travel through town to Canal Park. The contestants will be escorted to a specified area and Judging will begin following the official opening of the Festival with introductions of contestants and judges. The crowning will take place on the main stage at approximately 3:00 p.m. upon completion of Judging of all 3 age divisions. Each age division winner will receive a Queen sash; tiara; and $50.00 cash.

The Music & Arts Festival Royalty Pageant is open to all Lakewood School District female students in three divisions: Grades K–4th ; Grades 5th–8th; and 9th –12th. Once you have been crowned in one age division, you are not eligible to compete until you reach the next age division.

Each contestant will be judged independently in their appropriate age division on 4 categories. Each category will be worth a maximum of 10 points for a possible total score of 40 points. The contestant with the highest combined total points will be crowned the winner in their age division. In the event of a tie, the Judges will be asked to provide a bonus question worth 5 additional points to break the tie. The categories are:
           
1.            The contestant’s application;
2.            The contestant’s response to 3 questions unique to their age group;
3.            The contestant’s definition of Lancer pride, and
4.            The contestant’s poise, personality and appearance.

To qualify as a contestant, you MUST be a female student within the Lakewood School District; have the written consent and support of your parent or legal guardian; be willing to participate in at least one "out of Hebron" parade or event to promote the Hebron Music and Arts Festival, (most likely the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival Parade; the Utica Ice Cream Festival; or the Granville 4th of July Parade); and, willingly participate in the crowning of the following year's royalty pageant.

Dress appropriately for a pageant. Formal or “special occasion” wear is preferred and absolutely NO jeans, slacks, or t-shirts.   A portion of your total score is on your appearance.
